Invite a transformative experience through music into your home
right here in the Upper West Side of New York City.
Background
Hi, I’m Andrew! A NYC Dad who’s thought a lot about helping children find their unique gift, or what I like to call, “their thing.”
I discovered music can be a great path for personal development and discovery, even if they never become a professional musician. And there’s now tons of studies proving the brain development benefits of learning an instrument.
We started in Brooklyn 17 years ago, and are now thrilled to be offering in-home lessons for students on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
We believe music is more than entertainment. It's life skills through music.
Through the Musicolor Method, we merge playful melodies with pivotal life skills ensuring your child looks forward to every lesson.
Lessons in the familiar surrounds of home mean a relaxed child, optimal for absorbing both music and life skills.
Inculcating values of discipline and routine becomes more effective in a familiar setting, turning daily home routines into learning experiences.
Early introduction to music fosters confidence, helping them express, communicate, and shite even beyond the piano.
By making lessons a joyous home event, we inspire a lifelong curiosity and love for learning.

"My daughter has been a student at Park Slope Music Lessons for years and it's been a fabulous experience. Piano has helped provide her with a different approach to thinking and learning and she truly enjoys it. The instructors are fantastic and do an amazing job connecting with each student and tailoring their approach to their individual needs. Thank you so much!"

"My daughter has never sought to play music professionally, so her continued commitment to her weekly lessons for 12+ years (even with her busy high school schedule), is a testament to how much she truly enjoys being part of the Park Slope Music Lessons family!"

Music education goes beyond learning just how to play an instrument. We at Musicolor Method Upper West Side believe that it should cultivate life skills with particular emphasis on organization. Our approach not only enables young children to learn their preferred instruments, but also brings about a sense of discipline and orderliness that is of benefit in all other aspects of their lives.
Organization is fundamental to our teaching philosophy. We acknowledge that the process of learning how to play an instrument can be thrilling and rewarding for young children. Nevertheless, it necessitates a systematic way through which one must practice and learn. In our music lessons, we pass organizational skills onto our students, who then manage their time well enough to achieve success, set realistic goals and keep track of the progress made. This holistic concept guarantees that graduates become accomplished musicians while gaining some practices needed across various spheres in life.
Our lessons cater for every child’s talent and interests. Some examples include:
Piano

Guitar
Ukulele
Bass Guitar
Flute
Saxophone

And many more…
We are conveniently situated within both Morningside Heights as well as the Upper West Side vibrant communities. As proud participants in these ever-evolving neighborhoods, we strive to offer top-quality music instructions to all our pupils. Whether your child is a beginner or looking forward to honing his/her skills further, Musicolor Method Upper Westside will be there for you as we share the journey together.
Our unique edge is that we fuse organization into music instruction. Here’s how:
Structured Lessons: Each lesson is created to build upon what was learned before, making it easy for learners to follow and grow logically.
Practice Schedules: We assist students in designing practice routines that fit into their everyday life, teaching them the significance of regular practice and time management.
Goal Setting: We encourage students to set short-term and long-term goals by which they follow a clear pathway towards achieving their musical aspirations.
Progress Tracking: Through following up on their progress, learners can see how much they have achieved so far and this raises morale that keeps them going ahead.
We are helping our students do more in less time by being more organized. This ability is equally important in music as it is to academic success or personal development. Our pupils learn how to manage responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and be consistent with their goals. These are skills that will serve them well beyond the school years.
This difference is what we call The Musicolor Method. Our instructors love music deeply and are dedicated towards seeing each student reach his/her full potential. When searching for a music school which offers comprehensive lessons with an emphasis on organization; let it be the one-stop center.
